Song Split Sheet
The single most valuable piece of paper in a writing room, and the one least often produced. Every contributor: legal name, stage name, what they contributed, their percentage share, their publisher and affiliation if any, and a signature. Splits get agreed verbally, warmly, between friends — and litigated years later between people represented by lawyers, when the song unexpectedly earns. The fix costs two minutes on the day. The form also keeps the songwriting split visibly separate from any master recording split, because they are different rights and conflating them is one of the most common and most expensive errors in this trade.

Frequently asked
What if we can't agree on the split?
Then you have found that out on the day, in the room, while everyone still remembers who did what — which is enormously better than finding out later. The sheet does not tell you what the split should be; there is no standard, and an equal split is a decision, not a default.
Does it check the percentages add up?
It prints the instruction to check. The form renders rather than calculates, so verifying the total is yours — and it is worth doing before anyone signs.
Is this legal advice?
No. It records what the contributors agree. Music rights are unusually easy to get wrong and a song with real earnings is worth a lawyer.
