Performance Contract
Artist and purchaser, venue, date, load-in and soundcheck and set times, set length, fee and payment terms including deposit, what the venue provides and what the artist brings, cancellation and force majeure, recording and broadcast permissions, merchandise terms, hospitality. Most disputes about a gig are not about the music — they are about what time the band was supposed to be there, who was providing the PA, whether the promoter could film it, and when the money arrives. All of that is decided at booking or not at all.

Frequently asked
Isn't this overkill for a pub gig?
The small bookings are the ones with nothing in writing, and they are where people get stung on the fee. It is one page and it takes the awkward conversation off the night itself.
Is this legal advice?
No. It is a starting contract to adapt to your own terms and jurisdiction.
