Chore & Allowance Chart

Type the children, the chores and what each chore is worth, and get a week-by-week chart that rotates the jobs so nobody is always on the bins, with each chore's value shown, a weekly total per child and a grand total across the whole chart. The amounts are yours — the tool never suggests a rate of pocket money — and everything runs in your browser, so no names or figures leave the device.

Worked example

Chore & Allowance Chart 2 child(ren), 3 chore(s), 4 week(s), amounts in $ Week 1 Ann Dishes ($1.00), Hoovering ($2.00) = $3.00 Ben Bins ($0.50) = $0.50 Week 2 Ann Bins ($0.50) = $0.50 Ben Dishes ($1.00), Hoovering ($2.00) = $3.00 Week 3 Ann Dishes ($1.00), Hoovering ($2.00) = $3.00 Ben Bins ($0.50) = $0.50 Week 4 Ann Bins ($0.50) = $0.50 Ben Dishes ($1.00), Hoovering ($2.00) = $3.00 Totals over 4 week(s) Ann $7.00 Ben $7.00 Whole chart: $14.00 The amounts are entirely yours. There is no correct rate of pocket money, this tool does not suggest one, and every figure in the chart is a number you typed. Whether chores should be paid at all, which jobs count, and what a fair amount is are decisions for your household — they depend on the child's age, on what you can afford and on where you live. The rotation is a starting point to agree on together, not a rule, and nothing here is financial advice.

Frequently asked

How much pocket money should I pay?

That is not a question this tool answers, and it deliberately does not guess. There is no correct rate: it depends on the child's age, what you can afford and where you live. Every figure in the chart is a number you typed.

How does the rotation work?

Each chore shifts one child along every week. With two or more children that means this week's jobs are different from last week's, so the unpopular one moves around instead of landing on the same child forever.

What if I give fewer amounts than chores?

It says so and values every chore the same instead of failing or silently guessing. Put one amount per chore, in the same order as the chores, and it will use them.

Should chores be paid at all?

Plenty of families say no, or pay for some jobs and not others. The chart works either way — set the values to zero and it becomes a plain rota. It is a starting point to agree on together, not a rule, and it is not financial advice.
