Meal Plan to Grocery List
Paste your meals one per line — `Chili night: onion x 2, kidney beans x 3 can` — and get one shopping list with duplicates added up: two onions for the chili and three for the soup become five onions, sorted alphabetically so the same item is always in the same place. Unlike units stay on separate lines on purpose, and anything it cannot read is printed back to you rather than quietly dropped. It runs in your browser; the list never leaves your device.

Frequently asked
What format do the lines need?
`Meal name: ingredient x qty unit, ingredient x qty unit`, one meal per line. The unit is optional — `onion x 2` is fine. Quantities can be whole numbers, decimals or fractions (`1/2`).
Why are 300 g flour and 2 cups flour on two lines?
Because a cup of flour is a weight this tool has no way to know, and merging them would print a confident number that is simply wrong. Two honest lines beat one invented total.
What happens to a line it cannot read?
It is listed at the bottom under 'could not read'. Silently dropping an ingredient is how you get to the shop and find the eggs missing.
Does the multiplier change everything?
Yes — it scales every quantity on the list, for cooking the same plan for more people. It is clamped between 0.1 and 100.
